Mediums is a non profit making, non denominational organisation
and was formed to enable all psychics, mediums, tarot
readers, psychic artists, psychometrists, therapists
counsellors and spiritual workers in the Yorkshire area
(and the rest of the UK), experienced or trainees, regardless
of sex, race, religious beliefs, or other belief systems
to have a place where they can join with like minded
people to practise their mediumistic arts, talk, discuss
problems and find help with such things as training,
continual personal development, code of conduct, self
employed bookeeping, self assessment tax, up to date
information on Government regulations,and legal aspects.
We also offer reasonably priced insurance for mediums.
Our full paid members are offered unlimited advice on
general topics.
We will hold regular meetings,
courses and workshop days in the Yorkshire area.
We offer free advertising
and website links on our pages for our members. If you
wish to become a psychic or medium we can provide you
with contact details of an experienced trainer in your
area.

The Fraudulent Mediums Act 1951 has been repealed by the
Consumer
Protection from Unfair Trading 2007 (CPR's) which implement
the Unfair
Commercial Practices Directive (UCPD).
The Government response is that:
The Consumer Protection Regulations implement the EC Unfair
Commercial
Practices Directive. The Directive harmonises Member States'
laws protecting
consumers from unfair trading. It requires traders in
all sectors not to behave
unfairly towards consumers.
The Consumer Protection Regulations will apply to the
activities of all persons
acting in trade or business connected with the supply
of goods and services to
consumers. The Regulations will prohibit those activities
that are misleading
or aggressive.
So the Regulations will not affect the supply of Spiritualistic
services in
themselves. They will however apply to Misleading activities
related to the
supply of such services.
Membership
to this group is £10.00 per year which includes
free entrance to ordinary meetings, special members
insurance rates , reduced member rates for workshops and
courses, free advertising on our websites and entry
in our Mediums register.
Associate members
pay £5.50 but do not qualify for reduced rate
insurance, free advertising or entry in our Mediums
register
Fully experienced
Mediums, although your current qualifications will
be honoured and taken into account, you will still
need to meet our criteria, some coursework may be
required.
Membership
to Yorkshire Mediums and South Yorkshire Healers only
£10.00 per year.
Husband
& wife (couple) membership
YM & SYH only £16.00.
The membership
and insurance periods run from April to March.

supply proof of ability either by accreditation, church
or organisational references or by a simple test.

My advice to
all would be clients is:- You have freedom of choice,
shop around, find out what is the average price of a
reading or consultation, look for recommendations from
people you know, talk to the service provider and ask
them questions before making an appointment.Mediums
and Psychics (paid or unpaid) provide a service which
in no way affects your own free will. You choose the
supplier of this service the same as you would any other
service, if you are not satisfied you complain or refuse
to pay, same as you would with any other service. There
are con men/women in all walks of life that pray on
vulnerable people not just within the psychic and spiritual
field.
What to look
for in a Medium / Psychic:
They should ask
for very little, or preferably, no information. They
should provide a recording of the reading so that what
they have said is clear and precise in your head (basically,
after the event it is hard to recall if something was
said without prompting), They should be experienced
and have good reports from other clients. They should
not tout for custom (approach you in the street or pub
for instance). Their fees should be reasonable (neither
too much nor too little). They should be compassionate
and caring. They should explain what they are going
to do and what you may or may not experience if it is
your first appointment with them. They should not have
an over inflated 'ego'. They should always ask if you
have any questions and if you are satisfied with the
service they have provided.

requiring insurance. As an incentive we are offering
the first years membership to the group for only £5.50p
